Cannock Chase run from home

With the absence of any racing in recent weeks I thought I'd blog about a typically average run on local my playground, Cannock Chase.  While nothing like Lakeland, Yorkshire Dales or even the Peaks it's all I've got and it's on my doorstep.  Well, just over a mile away anyway.

Fly wanting to get a move on - Path down to Brocton Golf club

Tar Hill overlooking Oldacre Burn

Path up to Chase Road Corner

Chase Road corner.  Site of WWI camp coal store and trees planted in 1969 by AA members (useless information)

Fly takes a dip in Sherbrook Valley then the climb up Pepper Slade

Old Sand and gravel quarry

Having a play

Rugeley power station in the distance

Birches Valley

The end of Follow the dog trail.  Busy as ever

Guess who sponsors Chase trails.

FTD boardwalk style MTB track

Shakin' at Stony Brook pools

The other Stony Brook pool

Fairoak pools

Heart of England way cuts through the Chase from Milford to Gentleshaw

  1. If that's all from one run from home, I'm surprised the dog was still going by the time you got back!!

    Now thats one fit pooch!

That was Fly's longest run yet at about 16 miles. She's alright as long as it's not too hot.
